Bergen, Norway<\/em> \u2013 Bergen Engines is excited to provide an update on the continued success and growth of our apprenticeship programme at our headquarters in Hordvikneset, Bergen. Over the past three years, our programme has flourished, and we are particularly proud of the strides we’ve made in increasing female representation in the apprenticeship programme.<\/h5>\n\n

Prepared to Meet the Demands of an Evolving Industry<\/strong><\/h5>\n

With 35 young professionals now in the programme, we have seen an impressive 18% growth from the previous year. Importantly, there has been a 4% increase in female apprentices, reflecting our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. These talented individuals are gaining valuable hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge, positioning them for successful careers in the industry.<\/p>\n

This year, we have enhanced our programme by introducing new workshops including courses in industrial paint, model building and production technology. These additions are designed to provide our apprentices with a comprehensive skill set, preparing them to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our apprenticeship programme is structured to offer a blend of practical, on-the-job training and classroom instruction. The programme’s success is evident in the growth and development of our apprentices, who are making significant contributions across various departments within Bergen Engines.<\/p>\n

As we look to the future, Bergen Engines remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of engineers. We believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce is key to driving innovation and excellence in the engineering field. ABOUT BERGEN ENGINES<\/strong>
\nBergen Engines produces medium-speed liquid and gas fueled engines and generator sets are supplied to a broad range of land-based, commercial marine, and naval applications. The Bergen name is a watchword for quality and reliability in its field.
\nThe tradition of engineering in Bergen, Norway, dates to 1855 when the original company Bergen Mekaniske Verksted (BMV) was founded. In 1946, the company built its first diesel engine and has since commissioned over 7,500 of its iconic liquid and gas fueled engines.
