In a market where plant availability and performance are essential, you can rely on Bergen Engines service professionals. 

We believe in standing by our customers throughout the entire service life of their equipment. It’s for this reason that more than 80% of our operating plants around the world are covered by Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA), through which our highly trained and experienced service engineers provide both planned and unplanned service support. In fact, many of our customers have relied on us for more than 20 years - a testament to our LTSA philosophy.

Tailored service agreements

Every LTSA we offer is tailored to suit your individual operational needs, based upon an agreed scope of service, including Balance of Plant provision.

Agreements are uniquely configured to meet the requirements of your application, accounting for access to local infrastructure. Our LTSA scope comprises broad levels of varying Bergen Engines involvement, ranging from effectively independent customer operation to full operational reliance. However, we offer the option to customise service within this framework based on your needs.

The plant owner’s involvement in planned and unplanned maintenance may vary, and often depends on the skills and experience of plant personnel.

Training

Training is a key element of most agreements, helping operators to establish optimal maintenance and monitoring routines. Our training packages impart necessary system understanding and technical skills, reducing the risk of major issues arising from minor incidents. To ensure plant stability and efficiency, and reduce equipment wear and tear, there’s no substitute for professionally trained operators. As our customer, we support you in setting up the ideal service solution; to accommodate your individual requirements and give you the peace of mind you need.

We deliver technical support from highly skilled service engineers. An LTSA ensures predictable maintenance with fixed price per hour rating, and less downtime thanks to contingency stock.

Our remote monitoring systems enable preventive maintenance in the support of your equipment. Consequently, many issues can be pre-emptively solved by employing real-time plant data from the plant.

Guaranteed OEM spare parts

OEM (Original Equipment Manufactured) parts come with the latest technology, full warranty and the best reliability.

To ensure maximum equipment availability and minimal risk of unexpected downtime, we strongly recommend using only genuine OEM spares, no matter how small the part. High quality OEM parts provide unrivalled operational reliability and performance. A single poor quality non-genuine part can cause a major failure with significant economic losses.

We have seen many cases where what seemed to be small initial savings led to a major breakdown. Consider, for example, one customer whose initial savings of 25 euros on a non-OEM lube oil filter insert ultimately cost them hundreds of thousands of euros and prolonged downtime when the insert allowed dirt and particles to enter the engine, resulting in severe bearing seizures and eventually a crankshaft failure. In addition to their questionable quality, non-OEM parts are frequently less reliable and provide a shorter service life. This can lead to unexpected surprises such as higher lube oil or fuel consumption and increased downtime due to more frequent replacement needs.

Don’t compromise the quality of your equipment with non-OEM spares. When you consider the full lifecycle costs of your equipment, genuine OEM parts represent just a minor expense that’s worth it every time. Plus, our OEM parts are continuously improved by R&D. Worldwide Exchange Pool

The WWEP is a concept designed to reduce maintenance costs and downtime. Every year increasingly more customers discover the time and cost saving benefits that come with no compromise on quality.

Under our LTSA, only carefully tested OEM spare parts are used during service and repair. And to help keep your downtime and lifecycle costs to a minimum, we’ll use overhauled engine parts from our exchange pool whenever it’s appropriate. This saves a lot of time, as an overhaul of one single cylinder head may take as much as 10-15 hours in a specialized workshop.

Backed by a full OEM warranty, exchange pool parts are overhauled in certified Rolls-Royce workshops. This effective reuse of valuable materials benefits the environment and your bottom line.

The WWEP components are fully stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, repainted and pressure tested before reassembly according to OEM standards. The components are also updated to the latest version, in compliance with relevant regulations. Any worn parts are automatically replaced - your assurance of reliability.

There are many factors that may affect the lifetime of engine components. Consequently, the actual condition of some of the engine components may be unknown until dismantling. This makes it difficult to plan needed parts, labour and duration. With the exchange pool concept the risk for unexpected surprises is removed, and the overhaul can be planned much more accurately.
