APPRENTICE TRAINING PROGRAM

At Bergen Engines, training is an important part of the strategy to retain and increase our competence within the company. In recent years, the company has increased their number of apprentices, and we are looking to grow our program even more.

With our professionals operating the daily trainings for the program, the apprentices are well integrated with our employees in the workshop.

As an apprentice or TAF student in Bergen Engines, you will engage in an exciting and dynamic learning environment. Being Norway’s sole engine factory, we offer a distinctive opportunity to follow the engine production process from start to finish.

While an apprentice at Bergen Engines, you will follow a structured rotation schedule for your respective learning course and benefit from comprehensive training and mentorship provided by seasoned professionals.

Situated at Hordvikneset, north of Bergen, our location provides rich opportunities to be part of a vast and innovative environment with over 700 colleagues.

OUR LEARNING COURSES

We offer a wide range of learning courses and have a strong focus on the quality of our training. Bergen Engines’ apprentices are assigned to their own department within the company, overseen by a dedicated manager who is responsible for ensuring they receive the training they are entitled to, according to the Training Act and its regulations.

Each course of the program has its own curriculum established by the Directorate of Education, with Bergen Engines employing its own instructors who actively participate in the daily training.

Every fall, we welcome apprentices in courses that are vital to our business. With around 50 apprentices across eleven different courses, we offer strong career opportunities, and many apprentices transition into permanent positions within the company after completing their training.
