Powering the World’s Largest Subsea Rock Installation Vessel

As offshore wind projects grow in size, complexity, and distance from shore, the vessels supporting them must scale accordingly. To meet this demand, Boskalis has introduced Windpiper; a next-generation subsea rock installation (SRI) vessel designed to redefine capacity, efficiency, and operational reach.

With a cargo capacity of 45,500 metric tons, Windpiper will become the largest SRI vessel in the industry, more than doubling Boskalis’ installation capacity and strengthening its position as a global leader in subsea services.

Scheduled for delivery in early 2026, Windpiper is being developed through the conversion of an existing new vessel under Boskalis’ supervision, accelerating time-to-market.

Key Facts
