Bergen Engines participated in the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) in Rome on July 10–11, as one of only 30 international companies invited to exhibit at the event’s Business Fair.

The company showcased its reliable engine technology and discussed the recent delivery of gensets to Ukraine through the UNDP-led Nansen project, restoring over 100MW to the Ukrainian grid.
The Bergen Engines stand received visits from several high-level delegates, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. During the event, conference attendees heard a keynote address from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who underscored the urgent need for international investment and defense support amid continued attacks on infrastructure.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy addresses the Participants of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025
“We’ve already gone through three winters during this full-scale war, and of course, thank you to everyone who helped us then – thank you. We need to keep working together to get through the next winter, as well. This can only be done as a shared task, and let’s use this conference to move forward with that.
I thank Norway for already supporting us. Thank you to the Netherlands for your help. Thanks, Germany. Thanks, Ursula, António – thank you so much for the EU’s continued support in helping Ukraine face energy challenges. Real challenges. We must keep making sure our people are protected.”
The event drew global attention, with leaders in attendance including the prime ministers of Spain, Czechia, Italy, Poland, and Albania; European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen; U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg; and Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenskyy.

Coinciding with the event, Norway and the UNDP announced a €170 million initiative to support Ukraine’s emergency energy and green recovery, alongside a €2.3 billion EU agreements package aimed at mobilizing up to €10 billion in reconstruction investments.
Bergen Engines’ participation highlights Norway’s contribution to Ukraine’s recovery and underscores the company’s role as a valued partner in global energy resilience.
