Bergen Engines Hires 100 New Employees.

Sets New Growth Target for 2026

| Recent News

Bergen, Norway – Bergen Engines is celebrating a record year after hiring more than 100 new employees in 2025, and is now announcing plans to recruit an additional 100 in 2026.

Announced in mid-July 2025, the company aimed to strengthen its workforce with 100 positions by year-end, a target that was reached in just six months. The expanded workforce includes electricians, automation engineers, industrial fitters, industrial mechanics, CNC operators, industrial painters, industrial plumbers, and welders.

The increased capacity supports the company’s growing project portfolio globally, including AI-focused data centers and off-grid power plants in the United States. By delivering independent power solutions, Bergen Engines helps customers avoid grid-related outages while ensuring that surrounding communities are not impacted by large-scale energy demand.

Overcoming Industry-Wide Hiring Challenges

As organizations across Norway continue to report widespread challenges in recruiting skilled industrial labor, Bergen Engines’ ability to attract and secure more than 100 new employees in six months highlights both strong demand for its solutions and the company’s appeal as an employer.

Recognition for International Growth

The successful hiring initiative follows a strong year overall for Bergen Engines, which in November was awarded the Internasjonaliseringsprisen Villsauen 2025 by Bergen Chamber of Commerce and Vestland fylkeskommune. The award recognizes companies in Western Norway that have succeeded internationally through professional, targeted, and long-term efforts.

“Reaching our goal of hiring over 100 talented new colleagues in just six months is an incredible achievement for Bergen Engines,” says Elisabeth Stranden, Head of HR, “and being recognized with the Villsauen Award at the same time highlights the skill and dedication of our team. We are very proud of what we have accomplished together and look forward to continuing this growth in 2026.”
