Regarding the new agreement, Sven Sonnenberg, founder and CEO of Sonnenberg Power Solutions, stated: “We are honored to be selected by Bergen Engines as their trusted partner to expand their footprint in the dynamic Central Asian market. This collaboration provides us with access to Bergen’s cutting-edge medium-speed engine technology and their pioneering developments in hydrogen and other low- and zero-carbon fuel technologies. We are confident that this partnership will unlock significant opportunities and deliver substantial value to the region’s power generation sector.”
Jon Erik Røv, Managing Director of Bergen Engines, commented: “We are pleased to welcome SPS as a partner and look forward to new opportunities together in the Central Asian market. Their knowledge of the territory and experience with Bergen Engines’ technology position us well to build a strong partnership and grow our presence across the territory.”
In the past year, Bergen Engines accelerated its focus on future fuels, developing power solutions that support a low-emission future. The company became the first medium-speed engine manufacturer to commercially operate natural gas engines with a 30% hydrogen blend at 100% load, delivered to a customer in Spain. Building on that achievement, Bergen has tested higher volumes of hydrogen and is advancing its capabilities with methanol, biofuels, and ammonia. These innovations reflect Bergen’s commitment to cleaner energy without compromising the reliability it is known for worldwide.
The new partnership reinforces Bergen Engines’ commitment to long-term growth and innovation in Central Asia’s evolving energy landscape.
