The Power of 10

A Modular Power Solution, applicable for mining applications and scalable from 10MW to 300MW+

| On Land., Recent News

Langley Holdings’ Power Solutions Division develops hybrid-renewable microgrids through a collaboration between sister companies Bergen Engines, Marelli Motori and Piller Power Systems. The aim is to efficiently and cost-effectively meet the immediate and future microgrid requirements, while reducing emissions to a minimum. They are not restricted to use by large energy outfits but are ideal for many emerging power intensive applications across different sectors (oil and gas, mining, large manufacturing, data centre campuses, etc) which will increasingly depend on Microgrid power.

By providing modular power in 10MW kits using gensets, microgrid developers benefit from fast-to-deploy primary and back-up power which accelerates their protect return on value. Genset-based microgrids fill the gap between traditional remote turbine power and local power generation for specific applications.

Bergen Engines features:

      • Medium speed technology with impressive advantages for the microgrid market, including high efficiency at long run times, which uses less fuel than alternative power options.
      • Low load continuous running, which can be applied to microgrid projects with intermittent RER primary power.
      • Hot standby for primary grid loss.
      • Seamless scaling from tens to hundreds of MWs with ‘plug-and-play’ building blocks.

About Bergen Engines
Bergen Engines produces medium-speed liquid and gas fueled engines and generator sets to a broad range of land-based, commercial marine, and naval applications. The Bergen name is a watchword for quality and reliability in its field.
The tradition of engineering in Bergen, Norway, dates to 1855 when the original company Bergen Mekaniske Verksted (BMV) was founded. In 1946, the company built its first diesel engine and has since commissioned over 7,500 of its iconic liquid and gas fueled engines. Around half of them are still in operation today; such is the quality and reliability of a Bergen engine.
From 1999, Bergen Engines AS was owned by the British aerospace and defense group, Rolls-Royce plc. On 31st December 2021, the company was acquired from Rolls-Royce by the family-owned engineering and industrial group, Langley Holdings plc, and is now part of the Power Solutions division.
