Bergen Engines announces partnership with HEDINN

| At Sea.

Bergen Engines, the Norwegian medium speed engine producer, has entered a sales and service partnership agreement with HEDINN to support its marine offerings in Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

As of 31st October 2022, HEDINN will promote Bergen Engines for new engine sales, sell spare parts and perform maintenance services for Bergen’s marine customers in Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland. The aftermarket support will include planned maintenance using Bergen Engines original spare parts and components from Bergen’s worldwide exchange pool. HEDINN will also support Bergen Engines with installation and commissioning engines and relevant equipment, when needed.

HEDINN is an Icelandic industrial company that specializes in metal industry and mechanical technology. The highly skilled team has decades of experience in sales, maintenance, repairs, and installations of machinery for both sea and land applications.

Rögnvaldur Höskuldsson, Head of Marine Department at HEDINN, sees this agreement as a significant vote of confidence from Bergen Engines: “HEDINN knows Bergen Engines well as we have been servicing these engines since 1985 here in Iceland under the name Bergen Diesel and Rolls-Royce. Now our area is expanding as Greenland and the Faroe Islands come into our service, and we are very proud and delighted to have made an agreement with Bergen Engines for sale and service of their world class engines.”

Regarding the latest partnership of Bergen Engines and HEDINN, Kjell Harloff, Head of Sales – Marine at Bergen Engines, said: “It is with pleasure that we now can announce the sales and service agreement between HEDINN and Bergen Engines. This will be especially important for the huge number of fishing vessels operating here. We have had a long-lasting relationship for decades with HEDINN and look forward to a continuation of this in the years to come.”

In a short period of time, Bergen Engines have signed several sales and service partnerships, marking our presence in the busiest hubs of activity around the world. The agreement with HEDINN marks the third sales and service partnership in recent months for Bergen Engines, following the agreements with Motor-Services Hugo Stamp Inc. (MSHS) for North America, MSHS Brazil for South America and ULMATEC Services LLC (UMT) for the Middle East.

About Bergen Engines
Bergen Engines produces medium-speed liquid and gas fueled engines and generator sets for a broad range of land-based, commercial marine, and naval applications. The Bergen name is a watchword for quality and reliability in its field.
The tradition of engineering in Bergen, Norway, dates to 1855 when the original company Bergen Mekaniske Verksted (BMV) was founded. In 1946, the company built its first diesel engine and has since commissioned over 7,500 of its iconic liquid and gas fueled engines. Around half of them are still in operation today; such is the quality and reliability of a Bergen engine.
From 1999, Bergen Engines AS was owned by the British aerospace and defense group, Rolls-Royce plc. On 31st December 2021, the company was acquired from Rolls-Royce by the family-owned engineering and industrial group, Langley Holdings plc, and is now part of the Power Solutions division.
